COMPOS [results]

We have lotsa great competitions for you, like the Demo Compo, Intro Compo, Tracked Music Compo, Streamed Music Compo, Graphics Compo, Wild Compo and Fun Compos and a Surprise Compo at the partyplace. We also have special VisualJockey Compos, have an eye on them!

Prizes

The prizes depend a lot on our sponsors, but you can be sure to get nice things like hardware, money and fame - if you win. Money prizes will be paid out in Euro.

General Rules

There are some general rules about the compo, please make sure you read them:

  • The rules may be modified by the Buenzli staff
  • We will release every entry at the party
  • The creator of an entry must be present at Bünzli #11
VJO Competition

VisualJockeyR3 is a cool software from the guys formerly known as Nowadays. You can find the (commercial, but cheap) product here. The company Visualight (Nowadays) is responsible for these competitions, the compos take place on the second bigscreen, the winners will be shown on the big bigscreen.

VJ Competition #1 "visualJockey FXC SET"
Each VJ (graphical synonyme for DJ) can hand in a set of (max) 12 FXCs. The overall-size of the exported FXCs of one set must be less than 20MB. Each FXC will be shown during 100 seconds, optionally synced to sound and/or
MIDI and/or mouse-control (controlled by the author). The whole set of FXCs (not the single FXCs!) will be judged. The best set of FXCs will win a price.

VJ Competition #2: "visualJockey LIVE-SHOW"
Each VJ can run and control a show made with visualJockey for 15 minutes. No limits, any peripheral equipment is allowed! Make sure to bring your whole equipment and favorite sound on a CD with you! The best show will win a price.



Surprise Competition
The topic of this competition will be given out somewhen during the party. Remember, it's a surprise competition. You will have enough time to create a nice entry that will make you famous.
Buenzli Eleven Precompetition

It's time for the traditional pre-competition. This year, we ask you to use your true marketing spirit to design a nice advertising "poster" for
the party. Everything is allowed, only restrictions are a maximum resolution of 800x600x24b and the following text should be on your advert:

  • BIERHUEBELI, BERN, SWITZERLAND
  • 16th-18th August 2002

Send your entry before the end of June to precompo@buenz.li. The winner will get a free entrance to the party and a free t-shirt. Be arty, original and creative!


Demo Competition
  • Hardware: x86 computer with 1 Ghz, 256 MB RAM, GeForce 2 card, Soundblaster sound card
  • Supported operating systems: Win32 (Win98/Win2k).
  • If this doesn't suit you, bring along your equipment. But remember to have either a VGA-output, a cinch or a scart connector to connect to the beamer
  • The demo must have a title, a file_id.diz and an infofile
  • Pure animation players will be rejected.
  • Note that you may do test runs on the competition machi

Intro Competition
  • Size limit: 64kb
  • Hardware: x86 computer with 1 Ghz, 256 MB RAM, GeForce 2 card, Soundblaster sound card
  • Supported operating systems: Win32 (Win98/Win2k).
  • If this doesn't suit you, bring along your equipment. But remember to have either a VGA-output, a cinch or a scart connector to connect to the beamer
  • The intro must have a title, a file_id.diz and an infofile
  • Note that you may do test runs on the competition machi

Graphics Competition
  • Allowed: Formats: JPG, GIF or PNG
  • max. 800*600 24 Bit
  • You'll need to bring at least three significat steps of the modeling process
  • The picture must have a title, a file_id.diz and you have to declare which programs you used to make the picture
  • Pure scans are not allowed!
  • Note that traced and pixelled pictures are in the same competition.

Tracked Music Competition
  • Size limit: 2MB
  • Your tune has to be tracked (.xm, .it, ...)
  • It has to be playable with a free available player (f.e. NO Rebirth)
  • If the format isn't supported by us (we support XM, MOD, S3M, IT), you have to bring along your own (but free available) player
  • Must be playable on standard hardware
  • Songs that execeed 5 minutes will be faded out after that time
  • Your tune must have a title, a file_id.diz and you have to declare which programs you used to make the song

Streamed Music Competition
  • Your tune has to be an MP3
  • If this doesn't suit you, bring along your equipment (like a different freely available player or anything)
  • Songs that execeed 5 minutes will be faded out after that time
  • It must have a title, a file_id.diz and you have to declare which programs you used to make the song
  • Unlock & Fred want to be able to dance to your music, so make it rock

Wild Competition
  • Formats: DVD, DIVX, MPEG, AVI or MOV (preferably not, this sucks)
  • If this doesn't suit you, bring along your own equipment.
  • It must have a title
  • Everything is allowed.
